Sal-o-Mon: Authentic Mexican Cuisine & Wine Bar in New Braunfels

This was our first time trying this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The food is authentic Mexican food. It was delicious can’t believe I t took us this long to try it. It will definitely be our new favorite spot. Can’t wait to try dinner. We had the huevos rancheros and they were amazing. Heads off to the chef. The music was awesome. Despite driving past a million times, I've somehow missed noticing this place. The food is FANTASTIC. My oldest son told us about it so we went in to try it out. The ceviche starter was fresh, our choice was red snapper for the fish in it... (multiple options available) it was really mild and delishious. We all ordered different items from around the menu and everything was AWESOME. This is NOT Tex-Mex food, Its more authentic Mexican food. You get to choose what type of sauce for your enchiladas, I went w spicy red, it had kick and was delishious. Wife ate filet mignon fajitas and said they were very tender and delishious. Not exactly sure what my son and daughter in law ordered but it looked good and all I heard was good things as they are every bite of food. Server was knowledgeable of the menu and a great help in my ordering, never felt rushed either. Seems like a family owned and operated buisness, my son noted one gentleman that sobbed by our table was the owner. Nice guy. Nothing but good things to say about the food and service. Such a fantastic hidden gem. We will be back.!

I ate here tonight with my son and parents. The food was incredible - the Bluefin Tuna Ceviche was the best ceviche I’ve ever had. It was so good, grandma ordered one to go. The server was excellent, Grandpa said he was a real asset to the business- he joked with my son, was patient, and very attentive. 5 stars across the board. I drive past this restaurant almost every day but I never knew it existed. I’m so glad I found it from a Google map search. We’ll definitely eat here again.

The food here is absolutely delicious! I will definitely be back! The filet mignon tacos were so yummy… And I even think the corn tacos were handmade there. I got the fresh limeade, and it was so refreshing!

When they say right next to the front door "Authentic mexican and NOT texmex" you've got a lot to live up to, and they did. Tried the Asada dinner plate and it was good. Top it off with some of the red homemade hot sauce and everything ends up with the flavor and spice you would expect. I'll definitely be back to try more of what's on the menu.

I've drove past this place dozens of times without somehow noticing. The food is absolutely incredible. The ceviche as an appetizer is so fresh and delicious. We ordered different items around the menu and everything was so so good. Seems like a family owned and operated business, and I have nothing but good things to say about the place.

We wanted seafood, but did not want to go to the same old same old. Took a chance on something new for us. What a delight! Started with the Ceviche that was incredibly fresh and flavorful ! Berry Scallops and Red Snapper with rice and a wonderfully toasted corn tortilla with panela cheese were fabulous! For a real treat try the fresh squeezed limeade drink!

This is absolute 100% home run. Every bite is decadent and the wine selection is second to known. I'm being 100% truthful. My favorite is the red snapper. Bring your family here and you will love it.
